Utterly Trustworthy

Scripture References: Isaiah 37:14-29

From Series: "The Holy One"

God’s holiness encompasses both his exalted majesty and his moral perfection. In the message of Isaiah, we see God’s holiness in contrast to the sinfulness of the people of Judah, the kings of Judah, the nations, and even the prophet himself. Yet, in the presence of the Holy One of Israel who is high and exalted, God both judges and destroys AND comforts and heals. He promises the day of the Lord will bring his vengeance, but also speaks of his salvation and restoration. The message shows a world filled with sin and corruption, but declares that the whole earth is filled with the glory of God. To execute this comfort, healing, salvation, and restoration, God promises to raise up a servant in Cyrus to release God’s people from exile, and a Greater Servant who will atone for the sins of his people, in Jesus Christ. Thus, we need to grasp the holiness of God, and understand that the only hope for the world in the presence of the Holy One of Israel is the Holy One of Israel.
