Disappointing update: The doctor I was referred to at Barnes doesn’t know what to do with my case. Everyone agrees that the nerve is irritated, but they don’t know how or why, so they can’t do anything about it. He is referring me to Neurology there. I don’t have much hope for that, though. I was denied an initial referral there earlier this year (they said they couldn’t help me). Even if I get approved this time, I don’t know what they can say or do differently than all doctors I’ve seen at this point.

My brother Akira is still on antibiotic treatment at a nursing home in DuPage County to deal with a rare and very painful spine infection called discitis. Movement and repositioning in his back causes severe pain so he has been bedridden for much of his stay at the nursing home. Treatment is 6-8 weeks of antibiotic IVs so he will have to remain at the nursing home during that time. Please pray for healing and encouragement for this long stay and setback, and for his spiritual healing also. Please pray for safe travels as I shuttle back and forth between home CU and DuPage County. Thank you

Update for my brother Akira: Akira was admitte admitted to the hosptial and placed in ICU on Wed May 3rd with severe head, neck and back pain. After being diagnosed with sepsis and treated with anti-biotics, he was tranferred to a regular hosptial bed on Sat May 6th, and discharged Tues May 8th. He is now in rehab at a nursing home close to his home. He is still on anti-biotic IV treatments. Please pray that he will regain strength in his back and knee and so he can return back to his condo and normal life. Thank you

Please pray for my brother Akira who is recovering from knee replacement surgery from last week. The replacement surgery went well and he was making good strides in recovering from that. But he is suffering from neck muscle spasms, lower back pain, aggravated rotator cuff and sleep deprivation. He was walking well with a walker or cane when I arrived Friday but I had to bring him to the ER Friday night because of severe headaches and neck pain such that he could not move his neck without intense pain. The ER diagnosed him with neck muscle spasms but in trying to avoid movement and minimize pain, he had been sleeping in a recliner the past couple of nights. Now he is bedridden and he is too heavy for me to move him myself. He has a video appointment with his primary care physician tomorrow, but in the meantime the multiple pain meds prescribed for his surgery and muscle spasms are not giving him relief. Please pray for relief from the pain so he can get some rest and begin to heal. Thank you

First our praise: Mark's recent CT scan shows the cancer areas are reduced in size and there are no new cancer tumors. Our prayer request is that he is having intestinal pain and bowel issues that are debilitating. Please pray for pain relief and for continued improvement of his cancer.

1 Cor 2:9 "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him."
Praise God for raising up an Albania team. Pray that we would grow deeper in our walk with Him and see Him working in all the details as we plan to for the trip.
Pray our eyes would be open to what God has prepared for the team, for TCBC, and for the people we go to serve in Albania.
