Please pray for my friend with brain cancer - she is getting chemo treatments now and it is very difficult with side effects of nausea. Please pray for God's mercy and miraculous healing power to eliminate the cancer completely and allow her to live a long life. Pray for wisdom for me in reaching out with God's Good News to try and encourage her - and I also want to write some encouragement to her mother who is caring for her all the time.

Thanking God that Micah arrived home safely and that the trip was mostly uneventful. Also praising God that my mom and her friend are both still Covid-free (and Doug and I have passed Day 5!)

Found out this morning that our car got broken into (likely last night), trying to sort out what is missing and how to deal with it. Please keep Matthew and I in prayers.

Doug and I returned Friday from the camp in KY that we love to serve at but started in with Covid on Saturday. If you could please pray for the special needs campers and others who served at camp who might also be sick? We didn’t realize it was Covid til Sunday and on Saturday we had lunch with my mom and her elderly neighbor so we are also praying that they didn’t get it from us.

I’d also like to ask you in joining with me to pray for Micah. He will be driving himself and his girlfriend, Mya, back from Cru summer project in Ocean City NJ on Thursday and he has had an intestinal problem since he drove out there 10 weeks ago. On that car trip he had to stay in the rest area bathroom for 4 hours and also came across a bear while making an emergency trip into the forrest in PA. His anxiety has been quite high as he’s had continued problems with this throughout his time in NJ. Thank you so much for your prayers.

Thank you for the many prayers. We received positive news from Ellie's neurologist today. The EEG looked better than it has in a long time. It showed that the abnormal spikes during sleep have decreased! When Ellie was awake there were even long stretches with no abnormal discharge. All very encouraging news, praise God! She is almost seven weeks seizure free. If she goes three months without a seizure, then we will start to slowly wean the ketogenic diet. We are so very thankful.

Friends- as I consider our moment, I would greatly appreciate your payers...

1) We have Covid. In attending Cru's National Staff Conference in Milwaukee last week, we came home with COVID AS our parting gift! Kendra has not tested positive for it, but the boys and I have. Please pray for a quick recovery. And that Kendra stays healthy!

2. I start seminary RTS MDiv training on August 10, exactly one week before I meet the next incoming class of ROTC freshmen. Please pray that we establish healthy and sustainable new systems for our new homeostasis as a family and loving those God has called us to minister to.

Thanks,

Dan

Doug and I will be traveling to Sunshine Camp Sunday 7/24 through Friday 7/29. Please pray for safe and enriching travels to and from (with Kira C.) and that we’ll be spiritually attuned and Spirit-led in all of our interactions as we seek to bless these adult special needs campers in Appalachia. Thank you so much for your prayers!

Please pray for our son-in-law Mike. He is experiencing severe mental health issues and has been hospitalized. Pray that he experience the Lord's healing and forgiveness and that he will have caregivers who are skilled and can guide him through the process of healing. Please pray too for his wife Kara and children, Jack and Charlie, who have been traumatized by all that has happened.

Thank you for the prayers this past month. Ellie has had four blood draws and so far everything looks good. She will now have bloodwork once a month for a few months. Her sleep has improved some this past month and she is almost six weeks seizure free! Praise God! We go up north next Tuesday, July 26th for an overnight EEG. We pray that the abnormal spikes during sleep have decreased. Thank you again for the prayers and support.

Update on my Aunt Mary.

They are transitioning her to comfort based care tonight. The plan is to stabilize her at the hospital, and get her transferred to an in-patient hospice in a day or two. The next few days are the time for goodbyes for whoever in the family needs them.

Please continue to keep my family in your prayers as we say goodbye and deal with the grief and loss.
