As we’ve considered how deep sin is, we must gaze at our crucified risen Lord to know how wonderful grace is. Yet, as wonderful as it is, there exists both internal and external pressure to make the gospel depend more on what we do than what Christ has done. If we give into these pressures to add to the gospel, we end up losing the gospel all together. Galatians is a letter sent by the Apostle Paul to a church struggling to hold on to the gospel because they’re trying to add their own works to it. It will be a great point of focus for us in the season of Lent to help us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.
