Today’s Announcements

Church Center Updates

The TCBC Church Center is an app/website that will help you connect to our church in deeper and more effective ways. The Directory allows you to find contact information for TCBC members. This will also be the place to sign up for events. Church Center will also be the new home for our TCBC Prayer Wall. This enables us to keep prayer requests more confidential, as it will require you to log in to view the prayer requests. A new Congregational Care page will provide information on local organizations and ministries that offer various kinds of support. On this page you will be able to request funds from our Benevolence Fund, which is available to support members and regular attenders of TCBC in financial hardship.

The Church Center app/website will be the one place to go to for all your connection needs!

Budget Q & A Meeting

Thurs. May 9, 7 p.m. on Zoom (go to tcbc.cc/worship)
The Stewardship Team presented the 2024-25 budget proposal (summary and detailed) to the Leadership Council who approved it. The next step is for TCBC members to approve the budget summary in an online vote beginning May 26 (2 weeks prior to the June 9 Annual Meeting). There will not be time in the Annual Meeting for budget discussion. So join leaders on Zoom with your budget questions. Another option is to email your budget questions to leadership.council@tcbc.cc by May 15. You can find the proposed budget at MyTCBC.

Order of Service

Follow along with us as we worship together.

Song of Worship: Bless God

Verse 1
Blessed are those who run to Him
Who place their hope and confidence in Jesus
He won’t forsake them
Blessed are those who seek His face
Who bend their knee and fix their gaze on Jesus
They won’t be shaken

Chorus 1
Come on and praise the Lord with me
Sing if you love His name
Come on and lift your voice with me
He’s worthy of all our praise

Verse 2
Blessed are those who walk with Him
Whose hearts are set on pilgrimage with Jesus
They’ll see His glory
Blessed are those who die to live
Whose joy it is to give it all for Jesus
And for Him only
Oh Jesus all for Your glory

Chorus 2
Come on and praise the Lord with me
Sing if you love His name
Come on and lift your voice with me

Come on and bring your offering
Sing if you’ve known His grace
Come on and lift up your holy hands
He’s worthy of all our praise

Congregational Prayer

Call to Confession & Assurance of Pardon

ALL: Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Leader: Lord, you are full of compassion and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy; there is always forgiveness with you! Restore to us the joy of your salvation; bind up that which is broken, give light to our minds, strength to our wills, and rest to our souls. Speak to each of us, and let your word abide with us until it has wrought in us your holy will. Amen.

Message

32I want you to be free from anxieties. The unmarried man is anxious about the things of the Lord, how to please the Lord. 33But the married man is anxious about worldly things, how to please his wife, 34and his interests are divided. And the unmarried or betrothed woman is anxious about the things of the Lord, how to be holy in body and spirit. But the married woman is anxious about worldly things, how to please her husband. 35I say this for your own benefit, not to lay any restraint upon you, but to promote good order and to secure your undivided devotion to the Lord.

Apostle's Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
   creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
     He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
     was crucified, died, and was buried;
     he descended to hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
     He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
     the holy catholic* church,
     the communion of saints,
     the forgiveness of sins,
     the resurrection of the body,
     and the life everlasting. Amen.
*that is, the true Christian church of all times and all places

Communion

Taking the Offering

Song of Worship: Living Hope

Verse 1
How great the chasm that lay between us
How high the mountain I could not climb
In desperation I turned to heaven
And spoke Your name into the night
Then through the darkness Your loving-kindness
Tore through the shadows of my soul
The work is finished the end is written
Jesus Christ my living hope

Verse 2
Who could imagine so great a mercy
What heart could fathom such boundless grace
The God of ages stepped down from glory
To wear my sin and bear my shame
The cross has spoken I am forgiven
The King of kings calls me His own
Beautiful Savior I’m Yours forever
Jesus Christ my living hope

Chorus
Hallelujah praise the One who set me free
Hallelujah death has lost its grip on me
You have broken every chain
There’s salvation in Your name
Jesus Christ my living hope

Verse 3
Then came the morning that sealed the promise
Your buried body began to breathe
Out of the silence the Roaring Lion
Declared the grave has no claim on me
(REPEAT)
Jesus Yours is the victory whoa

Ending
Jesus Christ my living hope
Oh God You are my living hope

Song of Worship: King of Kings

Verse 1
In the darkness we were waiting
Without hope without light
Till from Heaven You came running
There was mercy in Your eyes

To fulfil the law and prophets
To a virgin came the Word
From a throne of endless glory
To a cradle in the dirt

Chorus
Praise the Father
Praise the Son
Praise the Spirit three in one
God of Glory
Majesty
Praise forever to the King of kings

Verse 2
To reveal the kingdom coming
And to reconcile the lost
To redeem the whole creation
You did not despise the cross

For even in Your suffering
You saw to the other side
Knowing this was our salvation
Jesus for our sake You died

Verse 3
And the morning that You rose
All of heaven held its breath
Till that stone was moved for good
For the Lamb had conquered death

And the dead rose from their tombs
And the angels stood in awe
For the souls of all who’d come
To the Father are restored

Verse 4
And the Church of Christ was born
Then the Spirit lit the flame
Now this Gospel truth of old
Shall not kneel shall not faint

By His blood and in His Name
In His freedom I am free
For the love of Jesus Christ
Who has resurrected me
