Reveal: Your Story and God's Myster

Shine His Light

Scripture References: Ephesians 3:1-12

From Series: "Shine His Light"

January 6 is a day on the church calendar known as “Epiphany,” which means “manifestation” or “appearing.” It recalls the visit of the magi visiting the young Jesus in Bethlehem (Mt. 2), a picture of God’s salvation “appearing” to the Gentiles. The day of Epiphany also begins a liturgical season by the same name. Following on the heels of Advent (a season of expectation) and Christmas (a season of fulfillment), Epiphany is a season of proclamation. It is a time to live out our calling to make the presence, goodness, and power of our God manifest to the world. Epiphany reminds us of God’s promise that the “nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.” The Lord’s salvation is for all nations, and his people are called to be a light to which those nations come. During this short series, we’ll be inspired and called up to shine the light of Christ to the world in a new calendar year.
