Katy, my sister in Maine, has brain cancer and has worsened physically. She is wheelchair-bound, and has speech issues (both where the two tumors were removed surgically on July 15.) Thankfully, only two seizures have occurred. She has another MRI on October 13th which will determine how well chemo and radiation worked. Currently, they stopped the chemotherapy last week because of her platelets going low. Her radiation ends this Thursday. And they cancelled OT/PT last week and this week. After this week there will be a month off of radiation.
Pray for her endurance during this difficult time of waiting for results, and keep her from falling. And for family members to be able to process her changes at the right time, to appreciate the moments with her. Thanks for your prayers!

Please pray for my father, Bob, who was diagnosed last week with stomach cancer. He is a retired pastor who has spent his life praying over others; it would mean so much for him to be covered in prayer now! He will start chemo soon. Please pray that he would retain enough strength through it to undergo surgery to remove the tumor after chemo.

Would you please pray for our granddaughter Emmie this week. She and Callie are headed to Birmingham Alabama for a third opinion. They are not seeking confirmation of Systemic Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis, but a third opinion regarding treatment.
1. Please pray specifically for safe travel on Tuesday. Birmingham is 4 hours from where they are staying. Please pray for Callie's alertness on the road and for ease of navigation in a city they have never been to before.
2. Please pray for the doctor's insight. Specifically, approaches and combinations that no one has thought about. Please pray for an approach that works.
3. Please pray for encouraging words from the doctor. Words from other doctors have not been encouraging for Callie and David.
4. Pray that all of this is unnecessary. Pray for God to heal Emmie of this disease completely and restore to her the lifestyle of a normal 6 year old little girl.

Continue to pray for healing for my eyes. Jane and I are praying both for God to sustain us through this trial and for God to strengthen our witness to the resurrection of Jesus Christ through healing me.
In recent prayer the story of Peter healing the beggar lame from birth stood out. Pray that God would equip us with a message to share as we ask Him and He answers the church’s prayers for healing.
Some points that jumped out:
“When Peter saw this, he said to them: “Fellow Israelites, why does this surprise you? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?”
“By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him, as you can all see.”

Well, the Northwestern University job opportunity is no longer an opportunity as they have decided to move on with another candidate. But that's okay since I will continue to trust in my God who has gotten me through half a century of life through some harrowing circumstances. I know that ultimately, He will guide me to my next source of income. I just have to keep applying and keep believing in His providence and timing. So with this job opp out, please continue to pray about the Corban University job opp and for other job opps. Thank you all! Oh! By the way, I have started the first of two online graduate courses that will provide for me a MasterTrack™ Certificate as well as 8 credits towards a Masters Degree in Instructional Design. Please pray for my diligence.

This is an update on my job search.
The Corban University job opportunity is still being processed, so I
should hear from them at any time. But in the meantime, another
opportunity appeared with Northwestern University's School of
Professional Studies. It is a long-term contract of two (2) years
with possible extension as a Learning Designer (instead of working
solo on the design, development, implementation, and evaluation, the
Learning Designer consults with a team of staff members that
specialize in what I used to do on my own, such as other learning
designers, instructional technologists, multimedia specialists,
content editors, and interface designers).
Please pray with me for God's guidance and attentive focus to be able
to answer their questions. Although I would prefer to work at Corban
University, a Christian institute like Moody Bible Institute, I put my
trust in my God who will open/close this opportunity as He sees fit.

Pray for healing for my eyes. I’ve been having macula issues where my cone cells are suppressed. Doctors don’t know why and aren’t confident they can help. Pray that God would heal my macula in both eyes and restore my sight. Pray for strength, encouragement and faith as we eagerly expect to break through

Today, August 6th, Warren Buck will be having bone marrow transplant surgery in Chicago. After the surgery Warren will need to spend many months living in Chicago. Please pray for success in the procedure and in Warren’s body’s acceptance and adaptation to the donor’s bone marrow. Warren has suffered for many years with leukemia and the potent treatments to eradicate it. Please pray for Warren to have a growing sense of God’s presence and loving care for him.
