Worship Services

Our services are at 9 & 10:45 am when UIUC is in session at the Intersection of Campus & Community 806 W. Michigan Ave., Urbana, IL 61801

TCBC is located at Lincoln Avenue and Michigan Avenue in Urbana, across the street from the University of Illinois’ Illini Grove and McKinley Health Center. We’re in easy walking distance of the university’s Urbana dorms (FAR, PAR, LAR/Allen, Busey-Evans, ISR, and Daniels), dozens of fraternities and sororities, off-campus housing (Hendrick House, Urbana apartments), and the historic West Urbana Neighborhood. Many students from the Champaign side of campus walk or drive as well. Our facilities include the main worship building with the sanctuary, lower-level fellowship hall, and library; the attached Christian Education Annex, housing children’s classrooms from birth through 3rd grade; and the Youth Building, used by our junior and senior high youth group, as well as our 4th-5th grade classes. Pastoral and staff offices are located in the Christian Education Annex.

What to Expect Sunday Mornings at TCBC

TCBC’s worship reflects our “campus and community” identity, bringing together different strands of the rich tapestry of Christian worship. Expect to dig into the Bible, to be pointed toward Jesus and his good news, and to be sent out as his ambassador to our campus, community, and world. See the homepage for current service times. TCBC is contemporary and relaxed. You can wear whatever is comfortable. We will sing songs of various styles as a way of worshipping God. During that time, you're welcome to join in whatever way helps you worship God. The sermon will offer Biblical teaching to challenge and encourage you to grow in your relationship with God. Check out previous sermons here.

We take whole-life discipleship seriously, pursuing the transformation of our minds, emotions, and wills through Christ. We offer a variety of Christian formation classes, from in-depth Bible study, to topics of theology and church history, to practical living as Christ-followers in the world today. Expect to learn well and to be challenged to submit more of your life to Jesus. And expect to make great friendships across campus and community as you do this together! Contact our Family Ministry Director, Kay Miller, for information on current classes.

Sunday mornings are an important time for members and guests to connect with God and one another. Time is built into worship services to meet others, and people are always mingling and talking before and after services. Plan to take advantage of those opportunities, as well as our “Coffee & Connections” time in the downstairs fellowship hall between the 9:00 and 10:45 services during the school year. Note that on one-service Sundays, we don’t have “Coffee & Connections.”

If you’re new to TCBC, take some time to get to know us without feeling rushed to serve. But as you learn who we are and what we do, we want you to find a place of meaningful service. If you know your particular gifts and passions, investigate some areas of ministry at TCBC that interest you. If you’re not sure where to start, or if you’d just like to talk about it, contact our Spiritual Formation Director, Steve Jaeger, to set up an appointment.

TCBC has strong ministries for children and youth of all ages, infants through high school. Age-appropriate classes are offered with trained and caring staff who desire to help your children worship, grow, connect, and serve with the rest of the church. For more information about classes available, please contact our Family Ministry Director, Kay Miller

You must display this ticket when picking up your child from the classroom.
