Twin City Bible Church Midtown
Where to Find Us
At the Intersection of Campus & Community 24 E. Green St. Champaign, IL 61820
TCBC’s Midtown site is located on Green Street between 1st and Neil, near the heart of Champaign’s Midtown district—a bridge between Campustown and downtown Champaign. We’re in easy walking distance of the university’s Champaign dorms (Ikenberry Commons, formerly the “Six Pack”), the western, central, and northern campus apartments, and dozens of fraternities and sororities. And with an average 14 minute commute time in Champaign-Urbana, no neighborhood is far away! Midtown was launched in 2012 as TCBC’s first multisite location, aimed at growing our ministry beyond the space constraints of TCBC Lincoln. Since then, Midtown has grown in numbers, depth of relationship, and influence in the community. Much of our church’s outreach into Champaign‐Urbana has been staged through Midtown, including our work with the Prosperity Gardens, various housing developments, and the Boneyard Arts Festival. Our facilities include space for corporate worship, children’s classes, and fellowship. Pastoral and staff offices are all located at TCBC Lincoln, but Midtown’s facilities are used throughout the week by groups both inside and outside TCBC.
What to Expect Sunday Mornings at TCBC Lincoln
TCBC’s worship reflects our “campus and community” identity, bringing together different strands of the rich tapestry of Christian worship. Expect to dig into the Bible, to be pointed toward Jesus and his good news, and to be sent out as his ambassador to our campus, community, and world. See the homepage for current service times.
We take whole-life discipleship seriously, pursuing the transformation of our minds, emotions, and wills through Christ. We offer a variety of Christian formation classes, from in-depth Bible study, to topics of theology and church history, to practical living as Christ-followers in the world today. Expect to learn well and to be challenged to submit more of your life to Jesus. And expect to make great friendships across campus and community as you do this together! Contact our Family Ministry Director, Kay Miller (firstname.lastname@example.org), for information on current classes.
Sunday mornings are an important time for members and guests to connect with God and one another. Time is built into worship services to meet others, and people are always mingling and talking before and after services. Plan to take advantage of those opportunities, as well as our “Coffee & Connections” time in the downstairs fellowship hall between the 9:00 and 10:45 services during the school year. Note that on one-service Sundays, we don’t have “Coffee & Connections.”
If you’re new to TCBC, take some time to get to know us without feeling rushed to serve. But as you learn who we are and what we do, we want you to find a place of meaningful service. If you know your particular gifts and passions, investigate some areas of ministry at TCBC that interest you. If you’re not sure where to start, or if you’d just like to talk about it, contact our Spiritual Formation Director, Steve Jaeger (email@example.com), to set up an appointment.
TCBC has strong ministries for children and youth of all ages, infants through high school. Age-appropriate classes are offered almost every Sunday with trained and caring staff who desire to help your children worship, grow, connect, and serve with the rest of the church. For more information about classes available this Sunday, please contact our Family Ministry Director, Kay Miller (firstname.lastname@example.org).
